Our team recently had the privilege of touring the future site of Monarch Residences, an exciting new project by Brisbane’s renowned property developer, Consolidated Properties Group. Situated along Toowong’s Coronation Drive, this riverfront development is poised to redefine luxury living in Brisbane.

Monarch Residences sits at 600 Coronation Drive, the former headquarters of the ABC. Originally purchased by Sunland Group and branded as “Grace on Coronation,” the site was later acquired by Consolidated Properties Group in March 2021.
This coveted address is steeped in history and boasts unbeatable accessibility to Brisbane’s transport hubs, including the Pacific Motorway, Inner City Bypass, and the soon-to-be Toowong to West End Green Bridge. Consolidated Properties Group has embraced the site’s heritage while incorporating modern features to create a community-focused space that integrates seamlessly into Brisbane’s evolving urban landscape.
The development will feature a mix of 1-, 2-, 3-, and 4-bedroom residences, including luxurious penthouses and villas. One of its standout features is the preservation and integration of the heritage-listed Middenbury House, which will be transformed into a dining destination with views overlooking the Brisbane River.

Initially designed to accommodate three residential towers, plans were revised after Brisbane City Council announced that part of the land would be dedicated to the Green Bridge and surrounding public green spaces. The team adapted by designing two 15-story towers, which comply with local planning codes while maximizing the remaining space.
The combination of a riverfront location, Coronation Drive, and neighboring infrastructure presented unique challenges for site access. Consolidated Properties Group identified practical solutions to manage these complexities and ensure smooth construction operations.
Collaboration with neighboring properties played a key role in the planning process. By maintaining the privacy and prestige of nearby estates, the team has set a benchmark for how developments can harmonize with their surroundings.
